The Gaston County Museum of Art & History, Dallas, NC is seeking applicants
for the position of Registrar (position #AH0007)
Essential Duties:
Compiles and maintains legal documents including accession records,
condition reports, conservation records, insurance policies and
environmental records.
Responsible for Integrated Pest Management implementation.
Facilitates public access to collections in accordance with established
policies.
Coordinates collections database projects including software, data
standards and data entry
Assists curator in care and control of collections on and off-site
Organizes outside services as needed, including conservation, packing and
crating, shipping, photographing and insuring.
Assists curator and exhibit designer preparation, installation, and de-
installation.
Prepares registration/collections management budget and manages approved
budget.
Trains and supervises interns and volunteers.
Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s degree in Museum Studies or related field or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of
Collections data base systems. The candidate selected must undergo and pass
a drug screening test prior to employment.
Salary Range: $25,468 -$26,742, plus excellent benefits
