We at The Science Place are upgrading our Laser demonstration -- with the
advent of laser pointers for the masses, our current demos are lacking in
the "Yowza!" department -- and I'd love your ideas and suggestions.
Specifically:
a) Has anyone tried making a hologram as a demonstration? I've seen kits
available (all of which are pricey), but I don't want to have to learn the
hard way that it's infinitely impractical. I know film development would
take time, but I dream of taking an object from an audience member's pocket
and producing a hologram of it. And film -- what kind is it, and is there a
cheap(er) place to get it that you know of?
b) What have you done to "modernize" any Laser demonstrations/shows you do?
c) What are the additional experiments made possible by using an Argon laser
instead of a Helium-Neon one?
I'd appreciate any advice possible!
Cheers,
Summer
