It seems some paperwork needs to be created for the file - to thank the
board member for his gift of $1,200 that was paid directly to the
contractor, and to obtain the contractor's receipt for same to attach to
your file copy.
I don't think the IRS would fuss but that is between the donor and the feds,
right?
