Meredith-
I am almost sure that book conservation falls under paper conservation. I am
actually interested in pursuing a career in conservation, so I was interested
by your posting.
You may want to try contacting someone in the NY public research library. I
know that they have a conservation division and I am sure that someone there
would be interested in speaking with you. I have spoken to a number of
conservators and they have all been receptive to my inquiries and very
helpful. Also, the MET has one of the largest conservation departments in NY
and I am assuming from your email address that you work there. You should try
to speak with conservators there - I am sure that they have paper conservators
in residence.
Hope this helps,
Elizabeth
