As a graduate student studying Museum Education at
Bank Street College, I found the question about Museum
Educators' professional backgrounds particularly
interesting.
Of our class of roughly 25, approx. 1/3 had taught
previously (in the school or museum setting); and
almost all had worked at a museum or non-profit org.
in the past.
Common threads of the group: innate senses of wonder,
creativity, curiousity and a desire to share things we
find fascinating with others. I'd guess this applies
to most in the museum world, huh?
Best,
Bill Singerman
