There is a good Public History program at the University at Albany. Most of
the classes are taught by museum/public history professionals. One of the
main differences is that the public history tract has more traditional
history courses as well as a concentration in library science, archival
work, museum studies, etc... However, it has less hands on work in building
exhibits (design is covered), which is left to do in a 2 semester full-time
internship.
