EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Colorado Springs Museum
Collections Manager
Six-month grant-funded contract position, forty hours per week
March 15, 2002 to Sept. 15, 2002
$15.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
Possibility of contract extension pending continued funding
Job Duties:
Inventory, photography, condition reporting, cleaning, re-housing and
relocation of the existing three dimensional collection to new storage
areas.
Development of a location system to aid in artifact retrieval and
relocation.
Space planning to accommodate the growth of the collection.
Environmental monitoring and analysis of collection storage areas.
Assist in achieving collections management standards necessary in
preparation for re-accreditation by the AAM.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in museum studies, art history, history or a related field.
Two or more years experience in collections management in a museum
environment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Must be capable of lifting up to fifty pounds.
