I have a client, a historic house museum, that's ready to move onto an
electronic catalog. I'm wondering what software programs similar
institutions might recommend. I'm particularly interested in any program
that allows describing/searching with both history museum nomenclature and
art and architecture terminology. Since much of the cataloging is done by
(well trained)volunteers, the program should have a simple interface and
enforce term and entry consistency as much as possible. As a historic house
museum their collection is fairly finite so the database does not have to be
large or necessarily expandable.
I know this question has come up many times but after searching the list
archives I came up empty in terms of this specific context.
Thank you,
