It's not too late to register and join us in St. Louis for the
Association of College and University Musems and Galleries (ACUMG)
annual conference focusing on the student component of our operations.
For many of us, student interns, assistants, and work-study positions
are considered vitl museum staff members and given levels of
responsibility beyond, perhaps, what would be expected of a student work
force. In addition, the student's voice and participation as a
community liaison serves an important role in educating the larger
public.
This year's conference will feature a variety of presentations about
effective student mentoring, including students involved with community
outreach, relevance of the museum/gallery to the broader student body in
different disciplines, internship and museum studies programs, preparing
the student for the field, and engaging their strengths and interests to
elevate our respective programs.
Held at the Washington University Art Galleries in St. Louis, our
day-long conference is Saturday, May 5th. To register, contact Stefan
