My advice would be to sell them to a reputable used book store and let them
find a home for them- it's their specialty! Or if you have an uneasy
feeling about accepting money (it probably won't be much), then just give
them to a store- they'll know what to do with them. Some might be donated,
some sold, some kept for stock, and some junked... leave it to the pros,
and buy more books!
