Dear Kim,
there is a diorama of Berlin Operation (1945) at Marshal of the USSR Georgy
Zhukov's State Museum ([log in to unmask]) in Kaluga oblast, Russia.
As far as I remember there is the Battle of Borodino (1812) diorama in Moscow
and a military diorama in Kiev, Ukraine.
If you can read Russian, you may find some info about dioramas in Russia
at www.museum.ru (as well as contact information of Russian museums).

| I am researching a thesis on military dioramas at Australian War Memorial
| and am looking for precedents (?18th/19th / 20th c)in other parts of the world.
| Not had much luck with the on-line museum collection sites; have found links
| to splendid natural history dioramas but little related to humans and historical
| events. My personal e-mail is [log in to unmask] I'd be happy
| to receive any tips/clues. Thanks, Kim.
