Writer - New Position
The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is seeking an individual with superb writing, editing, and proofing skills and a strong background in contemporary art who can adapt his/her writing style to a variety of needs, from marketing to fund-raising proposals. Responsibilities are expected to include grant proposals, press releases, bimonthly newsletter, invitations and brochures, website copy, correspondence, interpretive materials for programming, etc.
The writer will work collaboratively with the Director and the Marketing and Development Departments. Candidates should have a master's degree in art history or writing, and extensive experience in both. He/She must be able to write clearly and colorfully about the visual and performing arts for a wide variety of audiences, from the general public and mass media to granting agencies and the scholarly community. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent creative writing, english and grammatical skills, proofreading skills, an understanding of contemporary art forms, and enthusiasm for working in a multi-arts organization with an eclectic group of creative people.
