Gaston County is currently recruiting for the position listed below. All
candidates must be able to perform the essential job duties as identified
and meet minimum requirements for the position as advertised. Proof of

Title: Museum Registrar (Position # AH0007)
Location: Gaston County Museum 131 West Main St. Dallas, NC 28034-0429
Pay Scale: $25,468-$39,485
Appointment: Full Time
Essential Duties: (Note: The duties listed below are not inclusive of all
of the duties that may be assigned to the position but are considered as
essential to the nature of the job.)
*Compiles and maintains legal documents including accession records,
condition reports, conservation records, insurance policies and
environmental records.
*Responsible for Integrated Pest Management implementation
*Facilitates public access to collections in accordance with established
policies.
*Coordinates collections database projects including software, data
standards and data entry.
*Assists curator in care and control of collections on and off-site.
*Organizes outside services as needed, including conservation, packing and
crating, shipping, photographing, and insuring.
*Assists curator and exhibit designer with exhibit preparation,
installation, and de-installation.
*Prepares registration/collections management budget and manages approved
budget.
*Trains and supervises interns and volunteers.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in Museum Studies or related field or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of Collections
data base systems. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug
screening test prior to employment.
Minimum Physical or Ability Requirements: Must be able to work varying work
schedules. Physical ability to work from ladder and lift objects weighing
up to 20 pounds to/from overhead.
