Kathy,
Don't discount the earlier writings there is a lot of good information
there. But as an aid to finding more up to date stuff ask for C.G. Screven's
"Visitor Studies Bibliography and Abstracts" 4th Ed. © 1999. The abstracts
will help you identify which books, articles, etc. are worth your time. I
have a copy and it is heavily marked with highlighters and notes. It's been
a godsend for my education.
