The following questions were asked in the most recent issue of Spectra (the
quarterly journal of the Museum Computer Network. If you care to answer either
of them, it would be appreciated by the MCN membership. If your answer is pub-
lished in Spectra, I will be happy to give you credit, unless you indicate
otherwise. Your answer may be edited for spelling, etc., but not for the gist.
1) Do most museums which utilize databases continue to catalog initially on a
hardcopy worksheet? If so, what guidelines/suggestions might there be for
designing a "database" worksheet?
2) Has anyone changed or reorganized their departmental structure because of
the new technologies and/or computerization? If so, how does this play out in
the budget? What department gets responsibility for these technologies?

P.S. The deadline for responses is August 1. The next issue will be mailed out
about September 15. Thanks for your help! sq
