What I would like to see as a museum studies student...
1) More hands on opportunites offered to students through school and at the
museums.
2) Networking
3) Financing. Art history majors and studio art majors and even museum
studies majors rarely get educated on the complexities of museum finance.
Where is the funding coming from? How do you create a budget? How do you ask
for money without having to show leg or other body parts? etc.
3) How to deal with museum politics.
As a finance degree holder, I think its really important that students and
museum enthusiasts are taught about bussiness side of art. Thanks for
raising this topic Indigo, it was a good way to get us back to talking about
museums.
