Museum-Listers:
Having recently seen the Armani exhibit at the Guggenheim, I must say that I viewed it as I would most other exhibits. In this I saw a creative use of fabric, sequins, and a wealth of other materials from plastics to beads, all combined as body ornament. Had I been aware of any
large gift to the museum, I seriously doubt it would have changed my appreciation of excellent design and presentation. It is not often that a museum gets to exhibit a blockbuster collection and receive money as well. Usually it just costs a great deal of money to have such an
exhibit. I wonder if I would have read similar criticisms had a Red Grooms or a Chuck Close had an exhibit and also given money?
