Belinda: I'm taking French courses at Ryerson University in Toronto through their Continuing Education program, and I'm pleased with them so far. Classes are in the evening. It's a bit cheaper than Alliance Francaise. (Take any course taught by Stefan Veron--he's really good.)
I have also found the Toronto Public Library a great resource--they have language learning kits and other resources (like Tintin comics!). Also watch French TV (there are 4 channels in Toronto), and read magazines or children's books--anything illustrated is a big help when you're building vocabulary.
You don't say what level you're at--are you a beginner, do you have high school French, or do you just need to polish or update a basic fluency?
