Responsibilities:
The Production Specialist processes design work produced by designers for
special exhibitions, capital gallery renovations, and other projects
undertaken by Design. This includes producing and installing exhibition
labels, text panels, posters and kiosks, gallery maps and graphics,
exhibition signage, and stanchion information as well as applying vinyl
titling and assisting designers in producing comps, models, mock-ups, and
other materials during the design process. This position requires occasional
evening or weekend work as the exhibition schedule demands. The Production
Specialist is not a designer. This is a six-month, full-time temporary
position with possibility of renewal. Salary: $17,500 for 6 mos. ($35,000/
yr.) Benefits after 90 days.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate has experience in a busy digital production environment,
advanced hands-on production skills (cutting, mounting, laminating, etc),
basic skills in design software on a Macintosh, excellent organizational and
communication skills, familiarity with digital production equipment,
familiarity with production materials and techniques, and a BA/BFA. Send a
