We have somewhere around 90 volunteers and they really don't expect
anything. But they proudly carry all over town the special tote bags we
made for them one year - identifying them as volunteers. A really informal
luncheon is all we do (bring the kids and spouses!) and some kind words.
After a certain number of volunteer hours performed, they are given a year's
membership and we present those as well. Bear in mind that ours is a rural
historical museum and everyone knows we can't afford to give things away.
