An LSTA project needs a conservator to assess previously identified archival materials from 42 repositories in Yavapai County, Arizona. Goal is to present conservation recommendations for acquiring future grants. Conservator will coordinate activities with Museum Archivist and County Librarian. He/she will travel to all 42 sites to assess conservation needs for books, documents, photographs and other archival materials. Draft reports will be completed and submitted every 2 weeks, final reports due by May 31, 2002. Surveys conducted between February 1 and April 30, 2002. Successful applicant will be responsible for own transportation, lodging, and food. Contract required. $21,000. Conservator will be selected based on qualifications, previous experience, and affiliation with the American Institute for Conservation.
