Not nearly as many as are created in the name of religion I would suspect. I
have noticed a tendency to blame religion when bad things are done in its
name, but credit is given to individuals when they accomplish good things in
the name of religion. I think reality is somewhere in the middle. People do
both good and bad things inspired by their interpretation of a given
religion and/or use religion to justify their actions good and bad when it
is expedient to do so.
And besides, as other posters have mentioned. There is so much more going on
here than objections to religious icons.
