The National Endowment for the Arts recently announced the availibility of a
new grant opportunity called Creative Communities. Creative Communities is
the inaugural Challenge America Leadership Initiative, and represents a
partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development, and the National Guild of Community Schools
of Art. Creative Community will foster the development of arts instruction
by community schools of the arts during non-school hours in public housing
communities.
The Deadline for applying to this program is DECEMBER 15, 2000. Guidelines
are available online at http://www.arts.gov/guide/ by clicking on "Creative
Communities."
