The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences
seeks a full-time, permanent Camp Programs Coordinator in the Education
Department. The Camp Programs Coordinator is primarily responsible for
overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the museum’s
summer camps, as well as playing an integral role in the functioning of
other onsite museum educational programs year-round.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in education, biology,
environmental studies or related field and two years experience working
in a non-formal educational setting (museum, zoo, nature preserve) with
project management experience. Must possess excellent written and oral
communication skills, be flexible and organized. Must also have
knowledge of general science and an ability to present science content
to a diverse population of learners. An ability to carry supplies to
and from the museum, lead physical activity outdoors, and a driver’s
license is needed.
