I would recommend the choice of archive be based upon some relevance to
the photogrpaher in question- i.e., where did this person live,
frequently visit, etc.
Is there an archive for other paraphenelia?
Be very careful when looking at libraries that are public because of the
constant handling of the items could cause damage or leave them open to
theft, but some main public libraries do have a history room that might
have the means to take the books in question if they have the means to
accept such a large amount of ephemera as a gift.
good luck!
