What a great idea! If the universities can do it, why can't we? If a
person is personally interested in a particular area, then s/he could endow
a position to further that area. Thanks for another great idea.
Indigo mentioned to me that donors don't like to fund positions because they
are on-going commitments. What if there was a "museum friends" or guild
group who raised money to fund a position? I was a member of a guild who
raised money for a yearly acquisition for the collection. Why not for a
staff position, or at least an internship that paid decently, or part of a
salary for a staff position? Any more ideas or info on this?
