I am probably the only CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) on this list so I
suppose I should say something. However, I think Robin Panza has said it
all. That any institution, museum or otherwise, should have the stupidity to
stumble into a situation like this, is absolutely mind-boggling,
This is why we have auditors. Where is THIS museum's? The auditor ALWAYS has
a right of access to the governing board, though he/she may report lower
down in the organization, and this right is exercised primarily to report
incidents of gross malfeasance on the part of management, of which this
appears to be one.
