There is an article in the May issue of Smithsonian Magazine that may be of interest. It is primarily about a blind anthropologist, but at the end it describes a hands-on model with a recorded button-activated guide she helped create for a dinosaur exhibit. Not only was it a big hit among visually impaired children, but a sighted boy closed his eyes and tried it out as well.
