Dear Museum-L Listserve:
I am in the process of gathering information and writing my Master's thesis
about the inadequacies of funding and support for contemporary arts in
Italy. I am looking at why there has been such a reticence on the part of
the government, people, etc. to accept, classify, and recognize contemporary
artists and their works. I think much of the situation is a result of the
position of the government, but I am also exploring other areas as well.
I would like to know if anyone on the Listserve (especially our Italian
contigent!) would be willing to answer a small survey of 16 questions I have
put together regarding the topic. I am also interested in learning more
about the proposed Center for Contemporary Arts in Rome, which is government
funded (and initiated?)
Any input would be greatly appreciated, even facts surrounding the cultural
policy of the European Union since that will have a direct affect on the
contemporary cultural scene in Italy. I would appreciate if you could
please respond to me off the list, to my academic email address:

Many thanks,
