Hello everyone,

I am writing in the hopes that someone can give me a little advice.  I have
just been given the assignment of creating a preservation and disaster plan
for our library.  Our historical collections are housed in a separate
library and since this is a medical library most of our collection is in
good shape.  However, I would like to keep it this way and be prepared if
disaster should strike. I am starting from scratch since we do not currently
have any preservation or disaster plan for the books, journals and
electronic resources we collect.  I would eventually like to not only
implement the newly created plans, but also create a web page outlining
those plans with links to valuable preservation-related resources.  I have
already gathered numerous publications on creating preservation plans from
institutions like the Library of Congress, but I would really like to get
some first hand advice on what to do next.  Any ideas or suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.
