I can only speak from experince (several years ago)
I was at the McIntosch exhibit at the Art Museum in Chicago - I "got the
tape", it was 3 or 4 dollars, and well worth evey dime - I was able to move
at my own pace and gaze longer just by pushing stop.
At several historic house museums I have been to they use a wand type
"recorder" I DON"T like those - the one we had did not have a STOP and it
moved you along VERY quickly - fine when it is "busy" season perhaps - but
in that setting I did NOT like it!
