There is also a sense in which tours of factories and workshops are
making them simultaneously museums, often with marketing in mind.  The
woodcarving workshops of Firenze and the glass workshops of Murano are
two examples that spring to mind.  Confectionary shops and bakeries that
provide a view to the active kitchens are more common, and small-scale,
examples - and the man tossing circles of dough in the pizzeria window.
