The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is entering an exciting period of growth,
and seeks applicants for a Registration Assistant. The primary focus of the
position will be assisting Registration staff in preparing collection
objects for a move in conjunction with the Museum's building expansion
project. Duties will include collections inventory and data entry projects.
This full-time position with benefits will be for an initial period of two
years with the possibility of continuation.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is located in Kansas City, Missouri, an
affordable community with a greater metropolitan area population of 1.5
million. The Museum is in the midst of a $175 million capital campaign to
significantly enlarge facilities and increase endowment.
Bachelor's degree in art history or related field required. Work experience
(paid or unpaid) in a museum registration department preferred. The
successful candidate will be detail-oriented; have strong organizational,
written and oral communication, and word and data processing skills
(preferably with Microsoft Office and Argus collections management
software); and have experience with office procedures.
