Ms. Chiu:
Below is a posting that first appeared on the OMA's discussion list about a
month ago, regarding a project that my museum is involved with. I
immediately thought of "Sitting Pretty: The History of the Toilet" to fit
your criteria for an exhibit, but you might want to consider the others as
well. "Sitting Pretty" is currently on exhibit at the Guelph Museum--I
think it would be well received by your audience.
Cheers,
Tim McShane, Collections Manager
West Parry Sound District Museum
The Travelling Exhibit Partnership Project, a joint project among Guelph
Museums, Peterborough
Centennial Museum & Archives, Welland Historical Museum, and West Parry
Sound District
Museum, will be launching four new travelling exhibits this fall. These
exhibits are designed for
community museums by community museums. Each fills from 500 to 1000 square
feet. The
exhibits are: "The Avro Arrow: A Dream Denied"; "The Noble Experiment:
Temperance &
Prohibition"; "Passages to Freedom: Secrets of the Underground Railroad";
and "Sitting Pretty:
The History of the Toilet".
During 2001 and 2002, these exhibits are scheduled to circulate primarily
among the partners.
However, there are a few "spots" available between partner bookings which
we would like to
make available to nearby museums. In 2003, the exhibits will go on national
tour. If you are
interested in finding out more about these exhibits, availablility, and
costs, please contact:
