Eugene,
San Antonio has four mainline museums as follows:
Witte Museum--local history, art, and natural science. Dynamite textile
collection.
SA Museum of Art--fine arts and a world-class Mexican folk art collection
Institute of Texan Cultures--ethnic history of the state; 26 ethnic groups
SA Childrens Museum--standard children's museum stuff
There are several other more specialized museum/historic house
places--military, Victorian, medical, cowboy, and the like. And, of course,
a zoo and botanical garden. In addition there are more than average
cultural experiences--Spanish religious and civil buildings, Mexican and
black cultural institutions, central European (German, Polish, Czech,
etc.) organizations and events.
I will be happy to supply details to your friend once I know her specific
interests.
Happy trails. Michaele Haynes [log in to unmask]
