I have some old photos that are in fairly good condition that I would like
to scan into my computer. Does anyone know how much damage the light from a
scanner will do to photos? Does anyone have experience scanning historic
pictures with any tips they would like to share? My knowledge of photography
is limited. These photos were given to our family and we'd like to preserve
them digitally, if possible. They are brown and white(?), mostly on old
postcard paper, dating back to the 1930's.

Thanks in advance.
