The bulk of the Maximillian collections are in Berlin and Stutgart, Germany.
IN Berlin they are at the Volkerkunde museum in Dahlem ( a surburb of
Berlin) and in Stuttgart they are at the Linden Museum. There are a few
other isloated pieces in other museums but more than 90% are in these 2
museums.

I am trying to research this if there are any extant collections of Prince
Maximillian of Wied-Neuwied, Germany gathered during his travel to America
from 1832-34. In particular I am looking for a collection of Native
American
beads that he should have brought back to Germany with him. Is anyone
aware
of a small collection of beads housed in a German museum, more likely
northern Germany. Any leads or contacts however slight would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks, Amy
