Hi Kimi, you might try the Rensselear County Historical Society, 59 Second Street, Troy NY 12180, attn: Lorraine Weiss. A couple of years ago they did a children's walking tour in downtown Troy to explore different types of archhitecture. They also offered tours of the victorian mansion discussing what life was like.

Hi Kimi - we run a children's program called Heritage Hikes. It's a teacher/docent program that entails in-class preparation, a scavenger hunt for architectural details and then a specialized tour of The Haas-Lilienthal House geared towards kids - it deals with what life during the
Victorian era was like...If you'd like, I'll put you in touch with the docent who runs the program - we have a teacher's manual that might be helpful to you.
Get in touch with me off-list and I'll get your info.
