As far as "inappropriate info about one's employee to broadcast on a
discussion list" I think I have taken adequate precautions to protect the
identity of both the employee and the museum.

It's inappropriate to base a salary (or lack thereof) on discriminatory
factors such as age, marital status, whether you've got kids or not, etc.  I
