This is exactly true. My budget is affected every time there is any promotion, as well as our standing discount allowance for employees, docents, etc. While I consider this "funny money" technically it should be charged to the given dept making the offer educ absorbs docents for example OR there is a way to fold all the discounts back in for the purpose of the stores performance review. John doesn't seem to consider this an impactful issue, I think, but I certainly do.
