Two weeks ago, "Imperial Austria--Die Ritter sind Zurueck!", an exhibition
which we designed for the Landesmuseum Joanneum, opened at Burg Rabenstein,
near Frohnleiten, Austria. The Joanneum organized reenactments over the
opening weekend and there will be additional reenactments of jousting and
military techniques from the 15th to 17th centuries, as well as other
activities, throughout the summer until the closing at the end of October.
The public response the first weekend was excellent. Specifics can be
found at www.dieritter.aon.at. The issue, to me, seems to be the level of
authenticity, not whether museums should participate or not.
