Curatorial Assistant
The Curatorial Assistant is a one-year appointment at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. The Curatorial Assistant reports to the Curator and assists in
research and administrative tasks for temporary exhibitions. The Curatorial Assistant actively promotes use of the museum collections as teaching resources
for College faculty and students; facilitates use of collections by faculty and students and other scheduled visitors; drafts and/or produces exhibition labels;
makes scheduling and other arrangements for education programs; and drafts and distributes public relations materials on Museum locally, nationally, and
internationally. Represents the museum or various groups on campus, in the community and state. If time allows, the curatorial assistant is encouraged to
pursue a particular area of interest within the collections. Applicants should be a graduating senior or recent graduate of an undergraduate liberal arts
program, with a major or strong minor in art history, an excellent academic record and should have a commitment to museum work and to graduate study in
a related field. Museum work experience, knowledge of museum operations and professional work experience strengthen the application. Please submit a
