Dear Museum Folk:
Right on, Jenny. The best opportunities for entering the museum field,
and having the chance to make a difference and learn at the same time, are
out in the grass roots, the smaller museums, the ones you've never ever
heard of.
I guess I was trying to make an argument "for" job postings -- both
those looking for positions, and those seeking to fill them. In both
instances, the postings are often pointless (the so-called national search,
the young graduate with vague plans, seeking a sign of hope in this field)
but NOT ALWAYS. Good museum professionals are discovered one person at a
time.
As others have suggested, it's just a matter of using the delete button
anyway for those who'd rather not read these things.
