The University of New Mexico Art Museum, Albuquerque, seeks
a curator for its Jonson Gallery, established in 1950 by Raymond
Jonson.
The Jonson Curator administers the gallery (with a permanent
collection of 2,000 works and archives), organizes exhibitions
focusing on Jonson and his generation (i.e., Modernism in New
Mexico) and on contemporary art, and is responsible for
collections maintenance and development. Other duties include gallery
management (including finances), grant writing, consignment management,
fund-raising, public relations, and possibly teaching in a Museum Studies
program.
MA in Art History or Museum Studies, background in 20th
century American and contemporary art, 3 years museum experience, and
teaching experience preferred. Full-time, $2,181--$2,856. UNM
