"Elder Grace: The Nobility of Aging"
presents monumental portrait photographs of African Americans by the
celebrated New York Times photojournalist Chester Higgins Jr. Featuring
women and men from all walks of life, this highly acclaimed exhibition
reveals the beauty, dignity and energy of senior intelligence and
experience. The show is a rich tribute to older generations as a vital force
in American life.
Co-curated by the artist, the show closed March 2001 at the New-York
Historical Society, where it received enthusiastic response from public and
critics alike.

"Contemporary Korean Photographers: A New Generation"
showcases recent major work by ten artists. Representing the first postwar
generation of Korean photographers to practice as artists, the exhibition
heralds a renaissance for the form in Korea. Works by Bienu Bae, Bohnchang
Koo, Byunghun Min, Gapchul Lee, Jungjin Lee, (Atta) Seokjung Kim, Hongchun
Park, Chuha Chung, Hyoungkuhn Oh and Sangil Lee utilize a broad range of
technical and aesthetic developments, ranging from stark documentary realism
to delicate abstract compositions: all explore the myriad nuances of Korean
life and culture. The first major international group show of Korean
photography, this exhibition is presented in conjunction with FotoFest,
Houston, and was co-curated by FotoFest and participating artist Bohnchang
Koo.
