News for those interested in UTAGAWA Hiroshige (1797-1858), the Bato-cho
Hiroshige Museum opened on November 3, 2000 at a small local town named
Bato-cho (Tochigi-ken). The museum's core collection of Hiroshige's
woodblock prints 200 were donated from the family of the late collector
AOKI Tosaku. Currently a special exhibition of Hiroshige's hand painted
graphics selected from the Aoki Collection is held until December 3, 2000.
