Greetings, all:
I tend to agree with Chris Goodlett on this issue (Hi Chris from the former
person in your position). I am presently working for an institution where
the provenance and the donors of the artifacts is of primary importance, as
our collections interpret a specific group and their heritage. I will
certainly use donor names with the artifacts when we install our new
permanent galleries, as they are an important part of the artifacts'
histories. Actually, in Chris' case, this is also true. I have a feeling
this issue may vary from museum to museum.
