The Atlanta History Center seeks an experienced registrar to manage the
administration, supervision, and documentation of the museum’s 35,000 item
three-dimensional collection. Duties include processing acquisitions,
outgoing loans and related legal documentation, maintaining an accurate
inventory of collection objects, packing and shipping, training and
supervising volunteers and museum fellows. Works in close collaboration
with curators, exhibits registrar, Library/Archives staff, and collections
relocation coordinator. Minimum qualifications: BA/BS (MA preferred) in
history, museum studies or related field and 3-5 years registration
experience. Good computer skills and experience with automated collections
records (ARGUS experience preferred). The successful candidate must be
responsible, organized, detail-oriented and flexible, with strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to work well alone and on teams.
