Post-conference tour to New York City & Museums -optional NOTE: VENUES & PROGRAMME SUBJECT TO CHANGE Advance Information Joint Conference: This year, ICOM MPR has decided to join colleagues from the AAM to stage a joint conference. The Board of MPR felt that this would give our American colleagues the opportunity to share their experience with us, while at the same time presenting a greater opportunity to build the membership of MPR. Papers: An invitation is extended to all members of ICOM MPR to put forward papers on the conference theme " Cultural Heritage Tourism" for consideration and selection. An abstract of these papers should be sent directly to the Secretary of ICOM MPR, Mrs. Barbara Hope. The authors of papers, deemed to be of sufficient interest and challenge, will be invited to submit their final presentations for consideration and scheduling. No paper abstract received after JULY 1ST will be considered and the board reserves the right to select only those presentations that it feels will best contribute to the conference theme and programme. Please indicate what audio-visual aids you will require when submitting your paper for selection. Conference Organiser: ICOM MPR has decided to contract the services of a professional conference organiser and travel agency to oversee the logistical requirements for the conference. An announcement of the successful tender will be made at a later date. Post-Conference Tour: With past experience in mind, only one post-conference tour option will be offered to delegates on a first come, first served basis. The tour will be to New York City and will include museum visits to MoMa and the American Museum of Natural History as well as giving opportunity for sightseeing, shopping and entertainment options. The post conference tour will be costed separately and managed by the conference organiser ( above ) Budget: Full conference / post conference tour costs will be forwarded by Fax or email to those members who register interest.
