The following three Totals indicate the intensity of traffic on MUSEUM-L between 1 Jul and 28 Oct 1994. Careful interpretation is in order. The total number of Subjects means the total of Subject lines with _exactly_ the same text (except that the Re:'s and the original Subject are combined). The total number of lines doesn't count the mail header lines, but only the message body lines (there are another 5221 header lines, plus any additional mail header lines inserted by the various mail handlers between MUSEUM-L and you). And, the total number of lines includes the many, often unnecessarily repeated, lines of included messages to which the sender is responding. Total Number of Subjects= 1136 Total Number of Messages= 2690 Total Number of Lines= 81533 Following is a list of the top twenty Subject Lines occurring in MUSEUM-L between 1 Jul and 28 Oct 1994. Since Subject lines sometimes do not reflect the actual content of the message, and also messages treating the same subject sometimes change their Subject lines, these statistics must be interpreted with much care. For example, there are another 4 messages and 111 lines about the "team approach", but the Subject line is "Team Approach & A Chicago Museum" so it isn't included below. Nonetheless, the list does provide some hint of what topics have provoked the most comments. 363/2690 [13.5%] of the messages were on the twenty Subjects listed below. (Regarding "Unsubscribe" and some recent comments about those who signoff of MUSEUM-L: The "Unsubscribe" messages counted above are only those from people who sent the unsubscribe request to MUSEUM-L instead of to LISTSERV, and/or from those who had some comment to make about (un)subscriptions and were not really trying to signoff themselves. I don't know what the true number of signoff's has been during the past months, but it is a fact that the total number of subscribers has been growing steadily.)
